Movement

Movement-What’s happening right now. Almost every where you go there is a talk or protest about movement. Diego Rivera caught a great connection of this in his Frozen Assets Mural. Relating the mural to what is happening right now with the Occupy Movement. The mural shows how from way back then till now in 2011 the “99%” are still struggling to have it a little easier. The murals middle section shows a large group of people sleeping and being watched by a body guard. That part reminds me of the protest in front of the federal reverse bank. There are about 30+ protesters in the front camping and a couple guards standing, watching, Trying to keep order. During the depression (when the mural was made) the top city part of the mural still shows growth with the construction, and large buildings. The Last section shows a volt and a women inside checking what her wealth is. Middle part shows the poor sleeping in a shelter. Right now in 2011 there is a war going on, “We can fund a war but cant feed the poor”-Unknown. Part of the Occupy Movement is how the Government doesn’t support the middle class. People are losing there homes and unemployment rites are increasing. We are in a war and we aren’t even thinking what our country is going towards. The two of them compare well, its like Rivera captured both events in one thing.

War Dance

It is true that we all get inspired; it’s something that happens to us sooner or later. I didn’t find something that inspired me to the fullest till I turned 16 years old. On the islands, Fiji, Tonga, Samoa, New Zealand we all do something we call the Warrior War Dance. Many call it the Haka, but each culture has its own name and style of execution of it. Warriors back in the days used to do it before a war or cry for help, now it is used mostly in the beginning of any rugby match against the opponent you are about to face. The Haka is done in a group and the point of it is to remind the warrior the reason he is fighting and to pump them up to preform there best. I knew the Fijians do a Cibi (our form of the Haka) but I never truly heard about the New Zealand one to it. The Mouri are the ones that came up with this idea, and the New Zealand rugby team is well known for their Haka. I saw it on TV ones and it got me so pumped up that I went online searching about it. I learned the meaning and why they do it. I am fascinated by my island background and the Haka is a part of every islander. What got to me about the New Zealand war dance was there style, they slapped, threatened, punched and everything. It seem so great and empowering that I did it before every football game. The Haka has been around for generations now, and it will live on as longs as the tribal culture lives. I have seen boys young and old men do it when the time comes for it to done. Here in California there is a large island community, all the islanders I have met have done the Haka or know about it and that makes me proud because even those not even born on the islands still know there roots.

We all came to be in this community by random, or other’s say by faith. Most people did not know each other because we came from different high school’s and area’s. Peninsula High School is a continuation  high school where students with low credits come to make up there lost credits which they missed in there home high school.

Plus and delta about Nidhinesh Singh

  Plus: Willingness to try, Helpful to others, always there. Focused for a some time, Making eye contact, Great listener, Becoming more Tech Savvy. Not earning to many infractions, trying to stay on top of everything.

Delta: Speaking Out loud in front of a audiences, Getting up in the morning, Strong handshake, need to loosen it a little. Staying fully focused and not let other noise take my attention away, Making use of class time, Asking all my questions in class to get a better understanding of what needs to be done, Time management, Get more sleep.

Personally i would like to make all my deltas and turn them into pluses by the end of Module 2. Getting a better understanding of grammar and proof reading is one of the things i would like to improve in my BC class. For Tech my goal is to stay on top of all the homework and make sure that i turn is what is need and show my 100% on the assignment

My Neighborhood

Being raised in Texas from the age of six till 15 changed my thinking and look on things.  San Antonio Texas is majority Hispanic, White, and African American. Being the only Pacific     Islander in the neighborhood i was look at a little different from the others because most of the people there haven't heard of the Fiji Islands, and Fijians. My neighborhood didn’t effect me personally as to who i am now but it showed me many different life styles and view of different things. Being Raised in a school where you are the only Islander makes you do things and act in ways to fit in different. I had a passion for golf which i went on doing but also it was a common thing in our school for a guy to play football, so i joined that sport as well. Texas in known for its football players and when i told people i will join the team they would say “ oh you are to weak”. Comments like that made me try harder and become a first string starter player for my school. The people around me changed me alot, but my neighborhood showed me that being the only minority in a group of majorities isn't always a bad thing. Texas is known for people being rude and raciest but what people don’t know is that is not true. They showed that i didn’t have to try so hard to fit in to a group. San Antonio showed me that i can be who i am wherever i am. Friendly, helpful, caring, and tough when i need to be are the qualities i brought from Texas to California. My parents managed a hotel in Texas so we stayed in a attached home there. I gained my costumer relations skills there and also my talent to communicate. I didn’t have much neighbors because everyone came for a day or two, but i gained all that i need because of the people i met and friends i made. I am who i am because of what i wanted to be and from what i took in as something that would help me be a better man when i become older.

Most companies That deal with credit do it mostly to make money. Targeting low income family’s and areas where poverty is at its highest theses companies make money and spread the opportunity divide. Other then benefiting the people they are pretty much working there way around with things like fine print and scams.

companies are very Rigorous Anyone can walk in, get approved with a loan or a new car and walk out not knowing what the next couple of months will bring. Major companies don’t care much about there so called “customers” i would rather call them “bait” because its what they use to make money. I think its the government that is responsible for not really going into detail about theses companies and showing them for the Alfa-male is. 

Large corporations work there way around the law like posting things where the people cant see, and state that they have there rules posted on site. I think before a person goes to get a loan or do anything that deals with money they should really look into the company they are going towards and  what the companies rules and polices are. Being careful what what you are about to get into is the best thing anyone can do. Like blind shopping, people walk in and sign away there life without reading or thinking about the outcomes in the near future. Loan companies and places that offer credit and loans should post in many place all the details, there is still something called being fair to the world around you..
